Our clean air section is for groups and individuals concerned about the quality of air in their community and around the world.
The suggested requirements are designed to make the program fun, educational and rewarding. Following along with the requirements will prepare the participant to complete the final service project.
All level requirements are flexible. You decide what works best for your group.
Clean Air Helper Patch Program®
At the “Helping Hands” level children will learn how they can help keep the air clean in their area.
Requirement 1: Make It!
Do an art or craft activity to get excited about doing a clean air project.
Requirement 2: Learn It!
Watch the video to learn about air pollution.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested age-appropriate service projects for helping keep the air clean.
Requirement 4: Earn it!
Receive the Clean Air Helper Patch.

Gardening Patch Program®
At the “Friend” level children will learn how to help keep the air clean by gardening.
Optional coloring page download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Learn It!
Learn how pollution affects the air quality and how plants and trees help keep air clean.
Requirement 2: Smell It!
Take a walk and notice the change in air quality in different places.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested gardening projects.
Requirement 4: Review It!
Review your project. Optional review worksheet is provided for younger achievers.

Tree Planting Patch Program®
At the “Volunteer” level you will learn how to plan for a tree planting project.
Optional word search download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Learn what causes air pollution and how trees help reduce it.
Requirement 2: See It!
Visit a local tree farm or nursery and speak with someone there.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Make a commitment to protect and improve the air by participating in a tree planting project.

Clean Air Advocate Patch Program®
At the “Advocate” level you will learn how to effectively advocate for clean air.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Use the provided links to learn about air pollution and how it affects all living things.
Requirement 2: Do It!
Plan and complete one of the suggested advocacy programs to help keep the air clean.
Requirement 3: Review It!
Review your experience advocating for clean air and thank those who helped.

Clean Air Delegate Pin Program
At the “Delegate” Level you will learn to organize and lead a clean air service project.
Requirement 1: Choose It!
Use the provided links to choose a topic for your clean air action project.
Requirement 2: Plan It!
Learn how to plan and organize your action project including fundraising and outreach.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Join in during your project to supervise and provide assistance at all levels. Don’t forget to thank the volunteers, organizations and mentors that helped you complete your project!
