Our sea life welfare section is for groups and individuals concerned about the welfare of sea life in their community and around the world.
The suggested requirements are designed to make the program fun, educational and rewarding. Following along with the requirements will prepare the participant to complete the final service project.
All level requirements are flexible. You decide what works best for your group.
Sea Life Helper Patch Program®
At the “Helping Hands” level children will learn how they can help sea life in their area.
Requirement 1: Make It!
Do an art or craft activity to get excited about doing a sea life service project.
Requirement 2: Learn It!
Watch the video to learn about sea life.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested age-appropriate service projects for helping local sea life.
Requirement 4: Earn it!
Receive the Sea Life Helper Patch.

Waterway Cleanup Patch Program®
At the “Friend” level children will learn how to improve conditions for local sea life.
Optional coloring page download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Learn It!
Learn what a waterway is and why it’s important to keep them clean.
Requirement 2: See It!
Visit your local waterway and think about what you can do to help clean it up.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested waterway cleanup projects.
Requirement 4: Review It!
Review your project. Optional review worksheet is provided for younger achievers.

Sea Life Protector Patch Program®
At the “Volunteer” level you will learn how to plan for volunteering to help local sea life.
Optional workbook download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Learn about the major threats to sea life and think about what you can do to help.
Requirement 2: See It!
Learn about and observe sea life by taking an educational trip.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Make a commitment to protect and support sea life by choosing and completing one of the suggested service projects.

At the “Advocate” level you will learn to effectively advocate for the welfare of sea life.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Use the provided links to learn about the challenges facing sea life and what we can do to help them.
Requirement 2: Do It!
Plan and complete one of the suggested advocacy programs to help sea life.
Requirement 3: Review It!
Review your experience advocating for sea life and thank those who helped.

Sea Life Delegate Pin Program
At the “Delegate” Level you will learn to organize and lead a sea life welfare service project.
Requirement 1: Choose It!
Use the provided links to choose a topic for your sea life welfare action project.
Requirement 2: Plan It!
Learn how to plan and organize your action project including fundraising and outreach.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Join in during your project to supervise and provide assistance at all levels. Don’t forget to thank the volunteers, organizations and mentors that helped you complete your project!
