Our accessibility section is for groups and individuals concerned about accessibility in their community.
The suggested requirements are designed to make the program fun, educational and rewarding. Following along with the requirements will prepare the participant to complete the final service project.
All level requirements are flexible. You decide what works best for your group.
Person Helper Patch Program®
At the “Helping Hands” level children will learn about helping other people.
Requirement 1: Make It!
Do an art or craft activity to get excited about doing a person helping project.
Requirement 2: Learn It!
Watch the video to learn about people who are different.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested age-appropriate service projects for helping other people.
Requirement 4: Earn it!
Receive the Person Helper Patch.

Eyeglass Drive Patch Program®
At the “Friend” level children will learn how to help donate eyeglasses to those who need them.
Optional worksheet download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Learn It!
Learn about service dogs and how they help blind people become more independent.
Requirement 2: See It!
Visit a local center that handles service dogs and consider arranging for a service dog visit.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Choose and complete one of the suggested eyeglass drive projects.
Requirement 4: Review It!
Review your project. Optional review worksheet is provided for younger achievers.

Volunteer for Special Needs Patch Program®
At the “Volunteer” level you will learn how to plan for a volunteering for special needs project.
Optional booklet download is provided for pre-meeting.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Use the downloadable worksheet to help you research local centers and decide at which one you want to volunteer.
Requirement 2: See It!
Speak to someone at your chosen volunteer location to find out if they are a good fit for your volunteering project.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Make a commitment to improve the community by participating in a volunteer project for people with special needs.

Advocate for Accessibility Patch Program®
At the “Advocate” level you will learn how to effectively advocate for accessibility.
Requirement 1: Research It!
Use the provided links to learn about the challenges associated with living with a disability.
Requirement 2: Do It!
Plan and complete one of the suggested advocacy programs to help improve accessibility in your community.
Requirement 3: Review It!
Review your experience advocating for accessibility and thank those who helped.

Accessibility Delegate Pin Program
At the “Delegate” Level you will learn to organize and lead an accessibility service project.
Requirement 1: Choose It!
Use the provided links to choose a topic for your accessibility action project.
Requirement 2: Plan It!
Learn how to plan and organize your action project including fundraising and outreach.
Requirement 3: Do It!
Join in during your project to supervise and provide assistance at all levels. Don’t forget to thank the volunteers, organizations and mentors that helped you complete your project!
